Job Summary:
The Journeyman Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and equipment used in manufacturing. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, supports continuous improvement efforts, and upholds plant safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production machinery and support equipment.
•Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems, including gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, valves, and drive assemblies.
•Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including wiring, motors, sensors, PLCs, relays, and control systems.
•Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including cylinders, valves, regulators, and compressors.
•Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and diagrams to guide repairs.
•Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and relocations.
•Document all maintenance work and downtime in CMMS or maintenance logs.
•Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies.
•Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests during production.
•Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
•Collaborate with operators, engineers, and management to resolve recurring issues.
Required Skilled & Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required.
•Completion of a state-certified apprenticeship program or equivalent journeyman-level certification in industrial maintenance or a related trade.
•Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance.
•Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
•Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as blueprints and schematics.
•Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
•Basic welding and fabrication experience preferred.
•Familiarity with PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems preferred.
•Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain forklift certification.
